Physical Planning

The Physical Planning Unit of Capital Asset Strategies (CAS) is responsible for the stewardship of the campus’ unique physical setting in support of the university’s mission. It provides decision support on land use and facility siting, environmental priorities, campus identity and aesthetic.

Specific areas of focus for the Physical Planning Unit include:

  • Developing and maintaining consistency with the campus’ Long Range Development Plan
  • Articulating and adopting the Physical Design Framework and Campus Design Guidelines in close alignment with campus stakeholders 
  • Leading and/or participating in planning, environmental, land use, and facility siting studies
  • Partnering with the Campus Architect on broader campus aesthetic and identity considerations
  • Serving as a liaison with the City, County, and other agencies on planning and development priorities, as needed.
  • Collaborating with campus stakeholders to support best practices in campus planning and design, stormwater management, transportation, landscape design and more
